Meet The Team

Dr. Anne Pillar is from Sioux Falls and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2001. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska and went on to earn her Doctoral degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After graduation, Dr. Pillar returned to Sioux Falls to start her practice.

Dr. Pillar loves the freedom and variety of being a general dentist. She is able to treat patients with most any dental condition without the need for referral. She prides herself on forever being a “student of dentistry”. To date, she has earned nearly four times the amount of continuing education required. Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques is imperative in providing the best possible care for her patients. Making patients feel comfortable is a priority to Dr. Pillar, which is why she completed the DOCS education course for Adult Oral Sedation shortly after graduating from dental school. She has also completed extended training with the American Orthodontic Society in order to provide orthodontic care to her patients. Dr. Pillar is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Dakota Dental Association, the Southeast District Dental Society, the International Academy of Facial Aesthetics, the American Orthodontic Society, the Gordon J. Chistensen International Study Club, and is a certified Invisalign provider.

Anne Pillar and her husband Bobby Bartlett live in Sioux Falls with their son, Grant. They can often be found enjoying our beautiful bike trails or visiting the ever evolving downtown area. Dr. Pillar also enjoys reading, sailing, visiting family and friends around the country, as well as traveling to new places.

Dr. Tara Palmer joined the Pillar Dental team in September 2021 and feels so lucky to be apart of an amazing group who strive to provide the best care for our patients. She enjoys building relationships with all of her patients and helping them reach their dental goals. Dr. Palmer is originally from Mitchell and is now living in Sioux Falls. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2019 and attended the University of Iowa for her undergraduate studies.

In her free time, Dr. Palmer enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Brendon, her family and friends. She likes going on walks, hiking, four-wheeling or anything outdoors, snuggling up on the couch to watch HGTV or some Hawkeye Football.

Courtney is a Dental Hygienist here at Pillar Dental since February and was a 2020 graduate of MState in Moorhead, MN! She loves to make patients feel at ease while educating each individual on their oral hygiene needs and reaching their hygiene goals together.  Originally from Groton, she moved to the mountains for a couple years before returning home to the Midwest.  In her free time she loves shopping, traveling the world, being in the mountains snowboarding or at the lakes wake surfing with family and friends! She lives with the love of her life, Corby the frenchie. 

Michelle is a USD graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene and joined our team in Jan of 2022.  She has been a hygienist for 24 years, and previously worked for Dr. Tom Pillar earlier in her career.  She enjoys getting to know patients of all ages,  helping them to feel at ease during their visit, and providing thorough dental care while having fun along the way.  Helping patients improve the health of their smile is rewarding, and the best part is seeing them excited to come back!  She and her husband have two college kids that don’t keep them too busy anymore, along with two golden retrievers. In her spare time, she likes to do anything outside, watch movies, and hang out with friends and family!

Jess graduated from Lake Area Tech in 2012 with her associates degree in Dental Assisting. She joined our team in 2019 and takes pride in ensuring patients are as comfortable as one can be in the dental chair. Jess was born and raised in a small town in South Dakota. When she is not busy with her two children, she enjoys reading, being outdoors and relaxing.

Justine is a graduate from Southeast Technical College having received her associates degree in Dental Assisting in 2022. She joined Pillar Dental in August 2022. She grew up on Lake Albert but then moved to Sioux Falls to start her dental career. Justine is very dedicated to the dental health care profession and making sure all of her patients feel comfortable and leave her chair loving their smile. In her spare time, she loves being with her family, playing with her dog, Auggie, and shopping.

Cheryl joined our team in June 2013. She grew up in Miller, SD and now lives in Salem, SD with her husband Brett. She will greet you with a friendly smile and takes pride in making our patients feel welcome. Cheryl will answer any insurance questions you may have and make sure you get the correct appointment scheduled. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and being outdoors.

Becky is a USD graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been with our office since 2010. She has completed advanced training in the treatment and maintenance of periodontal disease using laser therapy and strives to make her patients healthy and comfortable. Becky and her husband Mark live in Sioux Falls and stay busy chasing their three daughters.

Brittini is a graduate of the Lake Area Technical Institute, having received her associates degree in Dental Assisting in 2013. Since joining our team in 2016, she has continually strived to make every patient feel at ease. She is excellent at explaining procedures and helping answer any questions about dental treatment with a smile. She is originally from Wyoming. She is married to Jon and has her hands full with 3 girls: Jaden, Jenna, and Mia. When she is not captivated by teeth you can find her at Hobby Lobby, a Broncos game, vacuuming, painting, or hanging out with her family.

Brooklyn is a USD graduate with her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene and has been with our office since 2017. Her main priority is preventing oral gum disease with the latest technology while making her patients feel comfortable and relaxed. Brooklyn will provide you with oral home care instructions to keep you feeling confident and your smile looking bright. She grew up in Pierre, SD but moved to Sioux Falls after graduating from USD. When she isn’t working she likes to spend time cooking with her grandma and hanging out with friends and family.
